Solo shows have been increasing at fringe festivals and on the tour circuit for many years.

So what are the ingredients of a successful and satisfying solo show at fringe festivals and beyond? What are the different ways of creating solo work and ensuring that the solo format is experienced by audiences as a virtue and not a compromise? How does the solo performer who cannot afford a director maintain objectivity? How does a solo performer on tour alone maintain their health and well-being? What is the craft of solo theatre making?

FringeReview editor Paul Levy will lead a practical discussion and workshop on the art and craft of solo theatre making. He has been a theatre reviewer for over 15 years and also made successful solo theatre work with his company Rational Madness Theatre.

The event joining link is sent to all Durham Fringe Academy Online members 60 minutes prior to the event start time. A recording of this session will be available to all members after the event.
